About UsLiving Life Voluntary Counselling Centre was set up in September 1996 at 'Madeley', Eglinton Road, Bray, by a group of independent sponsors. The Service was established to provide counselling and supportive services to those who could not otherwise afford it, reaching out, primarily, to the marginalised, unemployed and disadvantaged in our community.
The Bray centre was so successful that in October 2001 a second counselling centre was opened at number 9 Northumberland Avenue, Dun Laoghaire. This centre has grown enormously in recent years highlighting the demand for such a service in the Dun Laoghaire area. Over time Living Life became aware of the lack of counselling services in the Arklow area. Consequently when a location became available in the town the Service did not hesitate and in the spring of 2004 a satellite service commenced in Arklow. Currently there are almost seventy counsellors working between the Bray, Dun Laoghaire & Arklow centres Living Life Counselling is a charitable organisation and has been granted charitable exemption by the Revenue Commissioners (Ref: CHY 15284). President Mary McAleese addresses invited guests at a ceremony to mark the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Living Life Centre in September 2006.
